Dr. John R. Edwards
Dr. John R. Edwards joined the Utah Neurological Clinic Staff in 2015.
He has experience in all aspects of general neurosurgery, including brain tumors, head trauma and surgical spine treatment; and specializes in scoliosis and spinal deformity, minimially invasive spine procedures, cervical disc replacement, and sacroiliac joint fusion.

Dr. Edwards was born and raised in Utah Valley. He graduated from Provo High School and Brigham Young University, where he majored in microbiology. After his freshman year in college, he served a 2-year LDS mission to Ukraine. He attended medical school at the University of Iowa, earning AOA distinction and graduating at the top of his class. His neurosurgery residency was at Indiana University, where over the course of six years, he performed more than 2,000 procedures on the brain, spine and nerves.
Dr. Edwards was trained by some of the world’s foremost authorities in the latest neurosurgical technologies and innovations, including minimally invasive spinal procedures, use of intraoperative neuronavigation, scoliosis surgery, spinal cord stimulation and intracranial microsurgery.
When the opportunity came to return to the community he loves and work with excellent partners, he gratefully joined the Utah Neurological Clinic. Since starting practice, he has benefitted from the exceptional experience of working with and learning from the senior partners at the clinic, as well as building his own practice and earning the trust of the community.
Dr. Edwards is committed to providing every patient with the safest and most effective medical care available, treating them with respect and compassion, and making himself available for their follow-up needs.
He lives in Provo with his wife, Marie, and three sons. They enjoy hiking, skiing and golfing together, and are thrilled to be back in Utah Valley.
